Springtime in a Small Town is a remake of Fei Mu’s 1948 film Spring in a Small Town. A city doctor, Zhang Zhuchen, comes to visit his old school friend, Dai Liyan, shortly after the Sino-Japanese war, reawakening a passionate love affair he had had with Liyan’s wife, Yuwen, before she married.
